I want to use an image within a comment (not within a question).

How does it work?

In my opinion, if you really feel the image adds value to the question, I think posting a comment as an answer should be allowed. Just say something like "this is a comment, but I need to post an image". – Kirk Kuykendall Dec 21 '12 at 4:45

That's not possible. You can only post a link to a picture.

Is it possible to add images to comments?

  • Which image-hoster are recommended ? (the image should not expire; the url should not be blocked by firewalls) – Jens Dec 21 '12 at 7:36

imgur.com is the image host that StackExchange itself uses when you upload an image through the editor. – blah238 Dec 21 '12 at 10:34
