The yellow highlighted questions are those that contain one of your favorite tags. You can edit the tags on your GIS SE home page by selecting the "edit" hyperlink. Note that in addition to adding favorite tags, you can add ignore tags, which will grey out questions.

Thanks for the updates and work! I'm sure it will take a bit to absorb and get used to the changes, and figure out if something is a bug or just new/different.
One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure it's a bug or just a design change, but block quotes used to have a different color background (green) than code blocks/wrap. Now they're the same gray.
This is both a CSS and HTML template issue. The recent updates to the site's CSS remove the initial caps on all of the words, but they also remove it from 'asked', 'viewed', and 'active' because those words aren't capitalized in the template. To be completely honest the inconsistency in capitalization on our sites drives me crazy, but that's another project ...
This is not something that we can do from GIS SE. It would need to come from the SE developers.

I had not noticed this but, if I have understood your concern about it, then I do not think it is anything to worry about here because we always try to ensure that we have a code language setting for any code tags used on the site via Any coding tags missing code language setting for syntax highlighting?
The contrast of question titles to the background is too little. The headers look like inactive/visited links to me. Please use a bold color.
Many people might have problems with the Black bar at the top.

I suspect that the fix for this may just flow through from the coming CSS update referred to at https://gis.meta.stackexchange.com/a/3942 because I have noticed that title case is not used at two other sites that I frequent (which I know are already using it):
