I think that for most questions the version doesn't matter, where it does I think adding the version info to the question is sufficient.

Looking at the question, I agree it is not too broad, so I reopened it. I then reclosed it as unreproducible since I doubt anyone is still using version 2.2.

The comments you made on your question were not ignored by me (and presumably not by any of our eight elected moderators) because I had not seen them until I followed the link in your question here just now. You could have brought them to my attention by placing "@PolyGeo" anywhere in any of those comments. That comment would then have appeared in my inbox,...

Actually, the flag came from the review queue, your comment was flagged. First I looked and declined the flag as I felt it wasn't "unkind", a 2nd moderator looked at it and agreed with you and deleted both comments. Your later comment was subsequently deleted by a moderator as it wasn't really relevant to the answer. As for your chat question, if you don'...

If we are looking at some Oracle tags then I think it may be worth looking at them in context with all our Oracle tags. If you use [*oracle*] in the search bar it expands to [oracle] or [oracle-spatial] or [oracle-11g] or [oracle-10g] or [oracle-12c] or [cx-oracle] or [oracle-map-builder] In total there are 627 questions with an Oracle tag on them. The ...

Id say one tag for google-earth and google-earth-pro is enough because they are very similar and as you have already mentioned google-earth-pro is now free as well, so there shouldn't be many users left using the "normal" version. But in my opinion there should be an extra tag for the "new" google earth (web/mobile) version as they are different from the ...

In retrospect I made a mistake in voting to close this question of yours, for which I apologize. As @inc42 pointed out in a comment on my earlier answer to this question, posting a code snippet is not a requirement. I had forgotten about the outcome of Replacing MCVE with Code Snippet in custom close reason? and the two lines of code that you had included ...

Following the line of the synonymization between projection and coordinate-system, I would agree to synonymize projection-mathematics and reprojection-mathematics to coordinate-system as well. Mainly because I think they should be synonymous with projection. The terms are not synonymous. However, I don't think synonymous tags should necessarily refer ...

As commented by @Midavalo: The comment about your answer being too short was added through the review queue. That reviewer deleted the comment after you had expanded your answer. This is a sign of the review queue doing its job. In addition to that and @IanTurton's answer there are some links that I think are worth reviewing with respect to comment ...

There were only two questions tagged portal: Refining Features from Portal Webmap Active Directory Permissions for ArcGIS Enterprise I think both clearly related to ArcGIS for Portal, and so I am re-tagging them to be arcgis-portal. That means the portal tag (which has no tag wiki) will disappear within 24 hours, but can be re-created later if a case for ...

It is not rare that tags which have different meanings in the real world, are still used interchangeably in (GIS) Stack Exchange. Moreover, in this particular case, concepts of bbox and extents are closely related. Therefore, I suggest they to be synonymized and after some time, merged. This is to facilitate searching questions and to avoid duplicates. ...

Agree completely with making tags projection-mathematics and reprojection-mathematics synonyms with a view to eventual merging. The two terms are identical. While I further agree the subject of these two tags is indeed a sub-class of the wider 'Coordinate-System' tag, I disagree with any further synonymization. There is a significant quantity (>5,500) ...

I propose simplifying the Google Earth (GE) tags into just one - google-earth - and have any/all others as synonyms of that tag (excluding the engine and api tags). Most of the questions relate to GE or GE-Pro (basically the same product); I don't really see any need to have additional tags for GE mobile or browser which may only attract a handful of ...

Suggest merging normal and pro into 'google-earth-desktop' and the seperately have 'google-earth-mobile'
