It took me a little too long to figure out that my interests in geography, math, programming, visualization, design, environmental science, government, and a half dozen other things could coalesce into a single subject via GIS. I'm currently a master's student in the GIS program at North Carolina State University where I also serve as a teaching assistant for a graduate course in advanced geospatial analytics. In my spare time I'm trying to build some experience by applying my skills to working with mapping issues for local governments and nonprofits.

I'm more familiar with Esri products than anything else, but I'm trying to teach myself about other alternatives, as I believe much of GIS is rapidly headed for the cloud. I'm mildly familiar with the Google Maps API, PostGIS environments, and am in the process of learning GeoDjango and OpenLayers.
